More Prizewinners announced!

We had so many quiz sheets from our Let It Snow! and Bongos and Brass concerts to look at, and you all did extremely well. We really enjoyed all the tiebreaker answers and as usual it was very hard to pick our prizewinners, but here they are!

Let It Snow! Glasgow:  Millie Grover from Helensburgh and Isabell from Glasgow
Let It Snow! Edinburgh:  Tamzin McQueenie and Ben Emmerson, both from Edinburgh
Bongos and Brass Glasgow:  Peter Retson from East Kilbride and Kumi McKenna from Airdrie
Bongos and Brass Galashiels:  Adam John Fawcus from Berwick-upon-Tweed and Aidan Reed from Biggar.

Well done everyone!

Tons of fun to come!

Venues have been announced for Bongos and Brass and Sticks and Strings - our new series of chamber concerts where you can get up-close and personal with Owen and Olly!

The Bongos and Brass Bus will be stopping off in Glasgow, Stirling and Galashiels while Dundee will be treated to the newest concert in the series, Sticks and Strings.

Prizewinners Announced...

Hundreds of you filled in our fun quiz sheet at the Magic and Monsters concerts, and we had the difficult job of choosing the winners. Five lucky young people tickled us with their tiebreaker answers and won the special Children's Classic Concerts prizes. They are:

Ishbel Dickson from Peebles, Sarah Johnston from East Kilbride, Kim Hunter from Edinburgh and Emma and Shaun Edmond from Glasgow. Well done to them all!

The latest on Magic and Monsters...

Here's a sneak peek at what will be going on at the opening concert of our new season!

Magic and Monsters will be full of spine-tingling musical treats with just a few tricks to add to the family fun. Top tunes include John Williams' brilliant film music for Harry Potter and Jaws but the highlight of the show will be James McKenzie, aka CBBC's Raven, narrating Misterstourworm with music by award-winning composer Savourna Stevenson and words by Stuart Patterson, top Scottish film and theatre writer. In this scary tale for Hallowe'en, James will tell of Coran, a young warrior from the land of Tiree, and his challenge to set his people free from a horrible sea monster.

Why not start your Hallowe'en celebrations by coming to Magic and Monsters in costume, and see what Children's Classic Concerts' presenters Owen and Olly, not to mention all the players of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra will be wearing!

Saturday 31st October 2009, 3pm, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

Sunday 1st November 2009, 3pm, Edinburgh Usher Hall

There will be no tricks, just treats at Owen and Olly's wicked Hallowe'en concerts! Come in costume to join in the fun and enjoy a spooktacular celebration featuring a special guest appearance by CBBC's Raven.
